This position is located at the Battle Creek VA and is organizationally aligned under the Integrated Care Program, Psychology Service. The incumbent reports to the Integrated Care Program Manager, under direction of the Psychology Service Chief.

Duties

Prepares subjects for research procedures. Works with subjects who may become hostile or distressed. Establishes workflow necessary to ensure completion of all required structured diagnostic and clinical assessment. Prepares reports from records for research regulatory bodies. Instructs psychology trainees in proper administration of cognitive test and psychological tests. Administers and scores diagnostic psychological interviews and questionnaires. Work Schedule: Fulltime; Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS To apply for this position, you must have the following qualifications: English Language Proficiency - In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position. Specialized Experience: One (1) full year of experience that involved the observation of and assistance in the application of techniques relating to behavior, capacities, traits, interests, and activities of either humans or, under laboratory conditions, animals. Experience may have been gained in connection with a program of research or direct services in psychology that gave a practical understanding of some of the principles, methods, and techniques of psychology needed to assist professional psychologists. (Resume(s) must clearly support the duties and experience required for this position. We will not make assumptions regarding experience.) OR Education: Successful completion of one (1) full year of graduate level education school. OR Combination of Specialized Experience and Education: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate-level education (beyond 18 semester hours) and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. The education portion must include graduate courses directly related to the work of this position. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: CommunicationManages and Organizes InformationPsychological AssessmentPsychology IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
