This position is assigned to the clinical manager of Geriatric Extended Care (GEC) Service and provides support to the Chief of GEC Services, Administrative Officer, and the Palliative Care Manager. The incumbent will coordinate data-mining effort for regular reporting to committees, evaluate and interpret data, and take action as appropriate and reports pertinent data to GEC Service.
Duties
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Organization of and implementation of processes and applying process improvement methodology
Applying use of regulations, law, and/or accrediting body standards in performance of duties
General knowledge of hospital administration
Conducting data analysis to measure Performance Improvement Programs
Application of various fact-finding and quantitative management techniques such as data collection, cause-effect diagrams, histograms, Pareto analysis, performance measurement, etc
Ability to lead in the collection, analysis, trending and communication of data in a continuous feedback loop to the Chief of GEC
Act as an effective resource person to GEC employees pertaining to Joint Commission standards and processes
Knowledge and application of personal computer applications
Setting up record-keeping systems and files in order to document and provide a historical record of activities
File management and indexing
Daily use of word processing software
Utilize Microsoft Office for clerical duties associated with GEC Service
Ability to proofread correspondences and reports for accurate grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: administrative or clerical experience, experience with utilizing Microsoft Office, data analysis, building/pulling reports, time-keeping, process improvement, scheduling, office automation, etc.
