About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation on Keesler Air Force Base.
This position is considered regular part time. You are guaranteed 20 hours but could work up to 40 hours per week. As a regular full time employee, you are eligible to earn annual leave, sick leave, and sign up for benefits, to include health/life insurance, 401k, and NAF retirement.
Duties
Provides administrative support to the Outdoor Recreation Program to include; (FAMCAMP, MARINA, POOL, and OUTPOST) and oversees the daily activities of other employees engaged in the performance of their duties. Assists customers as needed. Assists in maintaining marina inventory which includes purchasing stock inventory and special order items. Assists with scheduling and timekeeping for outdoor recreation employees as needed. Assists in advertising and recruiting participants for leagues, tournaments, special events and open play activities. Works with outdoor recreation director, to plan and organize base events from beginning to end. This includes acting as organizer. Insures activities are properly scheduled, facilities are set up, and rules and regulations are observed. Performs marina retail sales inventories. Inputs data into Air Force software systems i.e.: Orbital, NAFR1S, NAFDIS, IBPS and RecTrac inventory systems which include receiving, pricing, and reports. Is familiar with Air Force software systems i.e.: NAFRIS, IBPS, Discover Viewer, and other MIS which aids in determining the financial wellbeing of the outdoor recreation operation. Opens and closes the store as required. Maintains fees due for RV Storage. Works directly under outdoor recreation director and assistant director and has managerial authority over subordinates. Has authority to approve leave for more than 3 employees in the absence of the manager. Will have an understanding of OI's and AFI's, and train new personnel; to include cashiers, recreation assistants, recreation aids and travel clerks. Serves as the equipment custodian to over $1 million in equipment for the Outdoor Recreation Center, tracking equipment tum-ins and works with logistics to perform inventory inspections. Makes operational decisions for the marina shop, to include planning and upgrading facility project upgrades, inventory and layout. Perform other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must be 18 years of age to meet state and legal age requirement for sale of alcoholic beverages. Experience which provides advance knowledge and understanding of outdoor recreation operations is highly desirable. Must have the ability to perform all duties related to marina operations, such as: ordering, stocking and pricing. Must have a working knowledge of outdoor recreation equipment. Experience in computer software to include but not limited to: word, excel and power point is highly desirable. Experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes direct handling of cash items, and use of cash accountability control methods. Experience in customer service and leadership roles. Prior experience in basic supply techniques is desirable. Experience with Air Force accounting and payroll is highly desirable.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
