This position is located in the Medical Record Department at Claremore Indian Hospital (CIH), Claremore, OK. This position serves as the Assistant Director of the Health Records Department, Supervisor of Coding, Discharge Analysis, Patient Care Component Unit (PCC), and Data Quality and Statistics Units. Performs as PCC Plus Coordinator, Medical Record Review Coordinator and Coding Compliance Team Leader. Reports to the Director of Medical Records.
Duties
Perform professional level duties assisting the Director of Health Records Service in the overall management of the Department.
In the absence of the Director of Medical Records, direct the operations of the CIH Health Record Service.
Responsible for the direct supervision of the Inpatient and Outpatient Coding, Discharge Analysis, Transcription, Data Quality and Hospital Statistical Units.
Responsible for training or educating medical record employees and other professional and non-professional staff in all areas of Medical Records Service.
Responsible for analyzing and evaluating all aspects of the Coding, Data Entry, Discharge Analysis, and Data Quality/Statistical Units and report status to management on all phases.
Manage Health Data Elements, Data Sets and Databases as it relates to health information collection, reporting and retrieval.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume or other supporting documents must demonstrate that you meet at least one of the following minimum qualifications for the GS-11 grade level:
GS-11:
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Experience includes: Providing administrative oversight of operations for a medical record file room to include a wide range of advanced duties; establishing and monitoring complex automated and manual systems necessary for the delivery of an effective Health Information Management File Room department; and applying legal principles, policies, regulations, and standards for the control and use of medical records in providing third party information, admitting, treating, transferring, and discharging patients.
OR
Completion of the requirements for a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.), if related. (Must submit transcripts)
OR
A combination of graduate education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-11 grade level (Must submit copies of transcripts).
Supervisory Abilities:
This is a supervisory position and candidates, in addition to the professional qualifications listed, must have demonstrated in their work experience or training, that they possess, or have potential to develop, the qualities of successful supervision, as required for this position.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
