About the Position: Supports the Medical Wing, Group, Squadron, or Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) program including Reserve/Guard mission (if applicable), and Clinical Quality function with the development and operation of a comprehensive and cost-effective community-based health care system which provides or arranges timely, high-quality health care. Duties

Serve as the principal office manager for the primary care clinic. Give direction and assistance to clinic staff regarding health care administration and clinic business operations. Perform medical administrative and front desk duties to ensure clinic operations run efficiently, with a high degree of independence. Identify and solve administrative problems or devise alternatives to current procedures to improve operations. Participate in the formulation of clinic goals and objectives. Applies established rules and regulations in order to sustain the clinic's compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), risk management, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting health administration with daily clinical operations, identifying health care delivery problems, and communicating with patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management or Health Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
