This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent will be responsible to the Director and Deputy Director Media Production/American Forces Network.
Duties
As a Supervisory Program Manager at the GS-0340-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as principal advisor to the Component Director and Deputy Director in resourcing mission and support programs.
Provides high-level management and business development support by creating guidance and procedures to accomplish the AFN mission within the framework of DoD, DMA, and other governing guidance.
Supports the strategic initiatives of all DMA Components.
Manages allocation and execution of funding IAW DMA and DoD policy.
Determines short- and long-term organizational goals; coordinates with DMA Headquarters and other organizations to accomplish objectives; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes; reports to higher headquarters.
Establishes and directs the implementation of AFN support, procedures, practices, and methods within the framework of existing regulations and guidance.
Sustains low operating costs without impairing quality of service through improvements, resource reprogramming, automation, etc.

- The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

- The employee must be willing and able to travel using commercial or military air, rail and vehicle and remain on temporary duty for extended periods of time.
- This position is not remote eligible.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Performing general resource and program management over a global radio and television network that provides commands information to authorized DoD audiences
Developing, analyzing, and improving business processes.
Providing direction, policy, and resource management oversight to achieve mission goals.
Performing supervisory duties to include oversight and accountability for all work performed by subordinate supervisors and assigned staff.
Establishing priorities for strategic operational short- and long-range plans, policies, programs.
Influencing and persuading senior flag-level leadership and senior managers to support organization programs and goals.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
