You will serve as a Supervisory Production Controller (Shipbuilding) in the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff (ACOS) for Maintenance and Engineering (N43), Commander Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP) of NAVSURFPAC READSUPGRU.

Duties

You will manage planning and monitor execution of Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Availabilities, in collaboration with applicable Commander Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP) directorates for assigned ship classes. You will monitor the readiness and material condition of assigned ship classes to identify material problems. You will receive, review, and make recommendations for approval/disapproval of work requirements contained in Business Case Analysis (BCA) submitted by maintenance teams in planning for maintenance availabilities. You will monitor funding actions, including but not limited to requests for advance planning support and material condition assessments using financial management tools. You will assist leadership in assessing the material readiness of assigned ships. You will conduct research to obtain background information, collaborate with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) representatives, and submit reports on ship issues contributing to ship?s inability to meet availability and mission requirements. You will assign, direct, and evaluate work of subordinates. You will review previous Fiscal Year (FY) budgets and make budget projections for the upcoming FY, taking into account ships? operational and maintenance schedules for the upcoming fiscal year. You will coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure priority work is executed during designated maintenance periods.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing and evaluating ship maintenance production work and resources to plan, develop, implement and manage repair, alterations and maintenance projects.
