Duties

You will provide innovative approaches to resolve technical problems leveraging modeling and simulation applications and practices. You will be an extremely versatile team player capable of performing increasingly difficult tasks in a very demanding and critical environment. You will be responsible for planning, design, development, and integration of information warfare solutions. You will use systems engineering principles and processes in solving engineering problems related to information warfare systems design and implementation as well as interfaces with other complex systems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or ND-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, designing, developing, and integrating of System of Systems solutions in accordance with scientific AND/OR engineering practices; AND Coordinating with systems engineers, scientists, systems analysts, technicians, project managers, or industry partners. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Appointment under this hiring authority requires completion of a Bachelor's Degree.

In addition, you must possess the following:

Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics.

At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
