You will serve as a Senior Glider Technical Lead responsible for the command and control (C2), remote deployment, daily operation and recovery of Unmanned Underwater and Unmanned Surface Systems (UxV) using Unix-based and PC computer systems. This position is located at the Stennis Space Center, Mississippi in the NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will identify system software and hardware deficiencies, write computer scripts, and implement corrections to background processes.
You will employ continual process improvement methodology to identify inefficiencies and develop new and improved methods to eliminate or mitigate such.
You will identify and/or resolve reported technical problems ensuring overall UxV collected data integrity, wholeness and cataloging.
You will collect, review, interpret, evaluate and integrate scientific/engineering information from multiple sources in assessing the relevance and significance of developments, and in preparing new or revising prior intelligence products.
As required, you will serve as project leader for an assigned area, coordinating the work of the team, establishing priorities, guiding team members and being responsible for accuracy and completeness of team products.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 803 and incumbents of the position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as the following: 1) Performing an analysis and interpretation of diverse physical oceanographic and Unmanned Underwater and Unmanned Surface Systems (UxV) diagnostic data in order to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and UxV mission plans; 2) Performing manual and automated evaluation, analysis, classification and distribution of UxV collected, real-time oceanographic data; 3) Creating and maintaining multiple computer scripts for the distribution and delivery of UxV command and data files; 4) Collaborating with UxV hardware and software vendors, commercial or governmental, for identified deficiencies in UxV C2 or operations.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science
or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
