The selectee of this position serves as a Budget Analyst. You will be responsible for providing management analytical support and guidance to the agency with respect to budget formulation, justification, evaluation, presentation programs, polices, and procedures.
Duties
As a Budget Analyst at the GS-0560-14 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Analyzing, advising on, and recommending solutions to budgetary problems and issues in all phases of budget administration.
Serves as a technical data base expert for budget exhibits and for inputting agency data in the MAX database used by federal agencies for reporting to OMB.
Serves as a technical expert, analyzing on, and recommending solutions to budgetary problems and issues in all phases of budget administration.
Provides advice and assistance to all levels of USMS management on assigned program areas.

Qualifications
GS-14 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GS-0560-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of full-time specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade GS-13 in the Federal Service performing duties which include 1.) Preparing, justifying, and administering a program budget, overseeing, and monitoring expenditures; 2.) Using cost benefit thinking to set priorities; and 3.) Developing cost-benefit analysis of proposed budgetary and program actions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
