You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY PROGRAMS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT BRANCH of HQ US MARINE CORPS.
Duties
You will conduct reviews of all aspects of security at major industrial installations to evaluate efficiency, cost effectiveness, and/or legal compliance.
You will supervise a group of employees performing work; provide administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
You will develop USMC criteria for determining the sensitivity of positions and whether special investigative requirements applied to incumbents.
You will provide oversight and guidance to the program manager for USMC functions that encompass difficult and diverse issues affecting critical aspects of substantive mission-oriented USMC programs.
You will advise senior management officials of methods and techniques for reducing security vulnerabilities and risk.
You will evaluate the administration aspects of substantive, mission-oriented programs administered by key organizations within USMC.
You will develop and monitor processes for complying with restrictions on transferring sensitive data, such as technological information, outside the U.S.
You will advise top-level agency managers on advances in physical security, such as new techniques for mitigating terrorist threats.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: directing and supervising all facets of a comprehensive security program to include advising the Commandant and other senior leaders on specific methods for the implementation of security-related products, services, and administrative procedures; analyzing the effectiveness of the programs, ensuring that established goals are being accomplished by identifying deficiencies and establishing corrective measures.
