Duties

If selected for this position, you will be responsible for supervising a team that is responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance in support of the information management and litigation needs of the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Typical work assignments include, but are not limited to: Planning and organizing work projects and assignment to be accomplished by employees and/or contractors, including setting priorities, work schedules, and sequences in order to meet deadlines and ensure an even flow of work. Advising management of the need for additional resources to meet the demand for automation by working closely to develop budget justifications regarding resources for new and/or modified network systems. Analyzing and refining litigation support systems requirements. Planning and designing systems architecture. Assuring software and systems quality and functionality. Developing formal test plans to validate functionality and systems performance. Planning, creating and coordinating litigation support services (including trial preparation and presentation) in response to customer needs. Providing customer support services, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and training in response to user requirements. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.

Qualifications

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification(s). Individuals must have IT-related experience and training demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work until provides, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and respond appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND GS-13 Specialized Experience: at least one full year of specialized experience to a GS-12 level in the federal service which is in or related to work in the information technology field that demonstrates each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Specialized experience is defined as: creating and coordinating litigation support services for trial preparation to include e-discovery; providing technical advice and assistance to resolve litigation support issues; configuring and troubleshooting computer servers, firewalls, routers, and wireless architecture components; developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure IT systems reliability; providing information technology training to customers and staff.
