This position is part of the NNSA - Office of Secure Transportation, Department of Energy. A successful candidate in this position will serve as Technical Information Specialist (Intelligence). The purpose of the work is to implement and manage the overall Research and Analysis Division communication architecture and infrastructure and data management, in support of all source intelligence functions.
Duties
Develops and maintains a documented architecture profile of the hardware, software, communications, classification, personnel accesses, etc., to ensure product continuity and overall change control.
Analyzes information on emerging technology and data on existing applications to determine the impact on existing operating environment.
Participates in the development of plans for integrating new technology into the existing infrastructure.
Ensures sharing and updating of database information through connectivity with identified partners to include DOE, DoD, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Intelligence Community organizations, making certain relevant information converts into a form suitable for analysis, production, transmission, or immediate use by RAD analysts and the customer.
Performs open-source research and reference services, including online database search and retrieval. Keeps abreast of developing automated data processing technologies and recommends systems for further study.
Participates in inter-agency committees and working groups to ensure that information services within the Agency and intelligence community effectively utilize evolving technology and compliment efforts in other agencies.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., GS-12 or NQ-02. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Examples of Specialized Experience:
1. Experience retrieving, processing, and filtering plain-text data produced by various common operating picture platforms in support of analysis-based software tool integration.
2. Experience analyzing information and creating intelligence products that support all-source intelligence analysis functions.
3. Experience maintaining a data base of records, past briefings, and intelligence reporting to a SharePoint or similar database in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures.
4. Experience developing conclusions that are consistent with other intelligence community professionals and communicated during mission briefs regarding Operational Risk Assessment.
