Duties
As the Director, for the NCI Office of Space and Facility Management (OSFM), provide oversight and management for all phases of work performed. Responsible for the day-to-day first line and second line supervision of OSFM staff and oversight of support contractors.
Provide guidance and technical advice regarding space/facility management, planning, development, operations, and conference/meeting management, and Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP).
Manage facility and operational support contracts to support NCI-occupied buildings; provide oversight of work performed by contract staff or technical teams.
Provide senior level advice and leadership within NCI in the technical design, construction, management, and operational requirements necessary for successful operation of NCI facilities.
Oversee all activities related to NCI leased and owned property portfolios, including the following: space acquisition, lease administration, property maintenance, construction, and property disposition.
Represent NCI in various briefings and negotiations for architectural projects or discussions.
Requirements

Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirement:
In order to qualify for an Architect GS-0808 position, you must have:
A. A degree with a major in architecture;
OR
B. A degree in a related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems; OR
C. A combination of education and experience-college-level education, training, and/or technical experience as demonstrated by at least one of the following:
(1) Related Curriculum: A degree in architectural engineering with course work covering function, esthetics, site, structure, economics, mechanical-electrical, and other engineering problems related to the design and construction of buildings primarily (but not exclusively) intended to house human activities
OR
(2) Experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture. In the absence of college courses, 5 years of such experience is required.
Additional Qualifications Requirement:
In addition to the minimum education requirement, in order to qualify for an Architect, GS-0808 position at the GS-15 level, you must you must have 1 year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing and implementing policies, procedures, and requirements for successful operations of facilities; overseeing the planning, design, engineering, acquisition, construction and quality assurance of facilities; planning and designing multi-phase new construction and/or renovation projects for facilities; overseeing technical contracts for planning, operations, and analysis of facility management functions; and representing an organization at briefings and negotiations on facilities-related issues or projects.
