THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP. This National Guard position is for a POLICE OFFICER, Position Description Number PDD2155000 and is part of the Mississippi National Guard.

Duties

As a POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-6, you will conduct formal combat arms training and maintenance activities for the Security Forces Squadron and tenant personnel. Control and operate firing ranges; inspect, repair, and maintain ground weapons. To enforce law, maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of the military installation. To oversee the work activities of Drill Status Guardsmen (DSG) assigned to the Security Forces Combat Arms function.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY MEMBERS WITH BONUSES: Upon acceptance of a military technician position military members who are currently receiving a military Reenlistment/Extension Bonus (REB) or GI Bill-SR Kicker may lose incentive eligibility and may be subject to termination or suspension of incentive (includes indefinite and temporary technicians on assignment for more than 180 days in any continuous 12-month period). GENERAL EXPERIENCE:A National Guard Title 32 Dual Status applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. For entry appointment to the GS-06 position, the applicant requires the completion of high school or general educational development equivalency, along with the successful completion of an equivalent military security or police training course. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:Must possess 9 months knowledge of practical security force (SF) activities in direct support of themilitary weapon systems and physical security; law and order; or area security operations. May have work experiences in law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of civilian/public areas or military installations. May have experiences in protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. May have experiences in responding to disaster and relief operations and participates in contingencies. Final selection will be based upon qualifications, suitability, and available manpower resources. e. This employer will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. f.
