This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Mission Support Positions (STRL) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
This is a 2 Year Modified Term Appointment. Term appointments may be extended up to 6 years. Employees serving under this appointment may be eligible for permanent conversion to a career conditional appointment after two years of continuous service.
Duties
Information Technology(IT) Logistics - Work that involves a solid understanding of IT principles and hardware as well as a strong attention to detail.
IT property management in the Army covers a wide range of activities that typically include acquisition, inventory management, assignment and tracking, hardware maintenance and disposition of IT assets.
Customer Support - Work that includes assessing IT trouble tickets, working with users, installing updates and patches, software installations and license tracking/assignment.
Security - Work that involves ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data.
Systems Analysis - Work that involves applying analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved information systems to meet the business requirements of customer organizations.
Applications Software - Work that involves the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires Personnel Security IT Level and IA Workforce Specialty requirements.
- Certification is required within 6 months of start date in one of the following CompTIA A, Network , or Security in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M - Level IAT1.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the DE-01 (GS-04) grade level in Federal service which includes: (1) Experience with IT logistics property management to include receiving, storage, detailed tracking, staging and transfer/turn in (2) Conducting asset inventories, reports generation, ticket tracking and database updates (3) Providing system support for organizational end user IT devices (4) Assisting customers with a wide range and variety of IT issues AND (5) Installing or troubleshooting all hardware and software components.
To Qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (DE-01 or GS-04) AND possess the BASIC REQUIREMENT of IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies as defined below:
1) Attention to Detail - being thorough when providing oversight of information technology and conscientious about attending to detail in the application of IT network policies and procedures;
2) Customer Service - working with clients and customers (e.g., senior management officials, information technology personnel, research and development organizations, the general public) to assess technology needs of a network, providing technical information or assistance, resolving network problems, or satisfying expectations; knowledgeable about innovations in network IT products and services; and committed to providing quality products and services;
3) Oral Communication - expressing highly technical information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; delivering technically authoritative and persuasive oral presentations; listening to others, attending to nonverbal cues, and responding appropriately; and
4) Problem Solving - identifying network technology problems; determining accuracy and relevance of information; and using expert judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
