The incumbent of this position provides program and administrative support, as well as liaison duties in direct support of the supervisor and a cadre of Mine Safety and Health Inspectors.
This position is inside the bargaining unit.
Duties
Makes travel arrangements for employees of the work unit. Provides itinerary, secures travel and hotel reservations, and prepares travel vouchers upon completion of travel.Performs a variety of administrative functions, such as: posts and maintains time and attendance records, distributes supplies, prepares mileage reports, tracks awards, etc.
Requirements

- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
Qualifications

For the GS-05 Grade Level: Applicants must have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-04, in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience must include at least one of the following:
Provide office administrative and technical support to internal and external customers.
Maintain and/or create records and files.
Prepare documents, correspondence, or reports.
Use computer software programs and applications.
Communicate through a variety of contact methods, e.g., email, telephone, in-person, web form inquiries.
OR
Possess 4 full years of college education leading to a Bachelor's degree which provides me with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of this position as described above.
OR
A combination of education and specialized experience listed above and the total percentage must equal at least 100%.
For the GS-06 Grade Level: Applicants must have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-05, in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience must include at least two of the following:
Review or proofread documents for conformance, format, or grammatical accuracy.
Maintain and/or create records and files.
Prepare documents, correspondence or reports using computer software programs.
Communicate with customers through a variety of contact methods, e.g., email, telephone, in-person, web form inquiries.
Assist with office support tasks such as maintaining a calendar and scheduling appointments, coordinating travel, or managing time and attendance.
Assist with coordinating meetings, trainings, or seminars.
There is no substitution of education at the GS-06 grade level.
This experience may have been gained either in the Federal or private sectors. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
In addition to the above, required proficiency for Office Automation (OA): You must have a typing proficiency of 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You must have a certificate of proficiency from an organization authorized to issue such certificates or self-certify your proficiency.
