About the Position: This position is with the United States Military Entrance Processing Command, Columbus Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), in Columbus, OH.
Duties
Perform timekeeping and related duties using an automated reporting system.
Maintain Office Suites Certification.
Receive visitors and telephone calls providing information requested or directing to appropriate staff member.
Advise staff on travel orders and travel vouchers.
Type a variety of correspondence using automated equipment and a variety of software programs.
Maintain Commander's calendar and schedules headquarters' leadership, providing reminders of appointments and meetings.
Create a variety of presentation material for use in meetings, briefings, training sessions, or for publications.
Operate and maintain military and civilian personnel systems.
Prepare office files in accordance with current filing order and Army Record Information Management System (ARIMS).
Serve as Commander's point of contact for civilian personnel actions and manages civilian recruit/fill requests in accordance with regulations.
Monitor and process civilians Defense Performance Management and Appraisal Program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a DD 285 Mail Handler's Card.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing an automated system to prepare such items as calendars, travel orders and vouchers. Performing administrative support duties for an office such as preparing correspondence and reports, receiving visitors and phone calls and time-keeping duties. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
