This position is located in the Office of Aviation Safety (AVS), Flight Standards Service, Flight Technologies and Procedures Division, Flight Research and Analysis Branch (AFS-430).

Duties

Position is the technical expert for the development of technical and scientific standards, programs, policies, procedures, and flight deck criteria pertaining to all aspects of 14 CFR Part 121 flight operations and advanced technologies in transport and non- transport category aircraft. Reviews and analyzes proposed regulations, national directives, technical and operational concepts, standards, criteria, procedures and other guidance for aviation impacts and recommends revisions based on sound flight operations criteria.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties. Specialized Experience includes experience conducting flight operations of new generation transport category aircraft or critically modified aircraft systems; experience evaluating new training methods and/or equipment (e.g., simulators); experience in the use and/or development of flight deck procedures pertaining to 14 CFR Part 121 flight operations.Applicants MUST also meet Selective Placement Factor - Applicants must have Air Transport Pilot (ATP) experience (proven by commercial aircraft operational experience), and Type Rating in Newer Generation Boeing and/or Airbus series aircrafts.
