Duties
Incumbent reports directly to the Bowling Center Manager.
Responsible for manning the customer service desk within the bowling center.
Assigns lanes to be used, operates control console, rents shoes and sells items in the pro shop.
Conducts inventories of pro shop items; may be required to inventory resale items, facility equipment, and other supply items.
Demonstrates and instructs participants on the proper use of equipment and provides guidance and instruction on bowling techniques.
Informs manager of equipment malfunctions as well as other items needing maintenance or repair.
Submits requests for advertising and recruiting participants for leagues, tournaments, special events and open play activities.
Required to schedule and administer these activities in the capacity of league secretary or tournament director.
Ensures activities are properly scheduled, facilities are set up and rules and regulations are observed.
As a working leader, performs the following types of duties: provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments; relays instructions from the manager for work assignments; gets work started and sets work pace; demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance; ensures that the work-site materials and tools are available; and ensures that employees follow security, safety, and housekeeping guidelines.
Prepares and issues banks for daily use.
Collects from register cash receipts, cash register tapes, checks, credit card receipts, coupons, and other supporting documentation for preparation of NAF financial paperwork.
Prepares bank deposits and ensures daily deposit is accomplished in a timely manner.
Uses computer and designated website to generate forms, enter daily deposits, and generate reports.
Ensures all monies are accounted for by balancing with the posting of funds placed in bank deposits before preparing deposits.
Prepares cash reports and notifies supervisor of any suspected irregularities.
Responsible for submitting employee's time using current time keeping system (SETS) to manager for signature.
Opens and closes the bowling facility as required. Works uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, family days and holidays.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have specific work experience which provided knowledge and understanding of bowling center operations including the rules and regulations related to bowling and organization of leagues and tournaments.
Must have a working knowledge of bowling machinery and equipment and bowling lane care.
Must have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes direct handling of cash items, and use of cash accountability control methods.
Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Must possess skill in dealing with the public.
Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check w/written Inquiries (NACI).
Must have the ability to lead three or more workers to accomplish duties in a bowling center.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
