This position is responsible for the oversight and delivery of the Whole Health Coach Program and skill development of the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital's Whole Health Coach pool. The position is integral to supporting Whole Health Coaches and Veterans in navigating the Whole Health Journey, specifically through the Pathway element of the Whole Health Coach Model.
Duties
Major Duties include:
Oversees the Whole Health Coach Based programs-logistics of space and scheduling
Delivery of curriculum
Evaluates performance and program effectiveness
Recruits, supervises and trains Whole Health Coaches in the curriculum
Oversees skill development of the Whole Health Coach team
Actively guides Veterans in the exploration of core elements of personal health plans though individual and group based programs.
Develops information for Veterans about the Whole Health Coach Programs
Collaborating with internal and external resources for supporting the Veteran's Whole Health Journey to develop resource lists for
well-being support within the facility and in the local community
Meets with external stakeholders to provide information about the Whole Health Coach program and access to Veterans
Conducts outreach activities to inform Veterans and family members of the programs available
Other duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/18/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for staffing, interviews candidates for positions in the unit; recommends appointments, promotions, and reassignments to unit positions
Set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work, assigns work to subordinates based on priorities
Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of work within the area of authority
Reports program outcomes and status to the Whole Health Coordinator or other facility leadership
Coordinates with others on the Veteran's health care team to ensure optimal patient care

To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related (Transcript required).

Physical Requirements: General nature of the work is desk work, conducting presentations within the facility and in the community, conducting trainings for subordinates, facilitating group based programs in learning environments. Some outreach activities may require changes in tour of duty to accommodate participation. Ability to communicate in tele health or other technologies is necessary.
