About the position: This position will be assigned to the NAF Human Resources Office on Whiteman.
This position is considered Regular Part-Time. You are guaranteed 20 hours, however you could work up to 40 hours per week. As a RPT employee you are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401(k) and NAF Retirement.
Employee will be eligible for the use of the fitness center golf course, bowling center, club, swimming pools and other activities.
Duties
Assists senior staff in providing recruitment and placement services to NAF activities.
Reviews for accuracy a full range of personnel actions, such as appointments, position and pay changes, transfers and separations.
Posts positions and checks preference eligibilities.
Prepares and checks for presence of necessary documents, for completion of all necessary items in each document, and for arrangement of necessary documents in proper sequence.
Checks items of information for conformance to applicable laws, regulations etc.
Contacts appropriate sources to secure missing data or documents.
Provides specific items of information to NAF employees regarding personnel matters including, but not limited to, insurance, retirement, 401(k), unemployment compensation, workers' compensation, and awards, found in commonly used regulations, instructions, or manuals.
Conducts pre-employment briefings and in-processes new employees, providing an overview of employee benefits and assisting in the completion of employment documents.
Generates monthly reports.
Maintains Official Personnel Folders, office files, etc.
Inputs personnel data into the automated NAF personnel data system to process a variety of personnel actions.
Forwards timely and accurate copies of records for administrative and pay purposes to other offices as required.
May research and download forms and publications and post updates to directives.
Prepares written correspondence and other documentation.
Drafts or prepares a variety of documents to include newsletters items, responses to routine inquiries, reports, letters, and other related documents.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Applicant MUST have experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the pay band level of the position.
In addition, general skill in applying basic principles, concepts, and practices sufficient to perform entry-level assignments in Human Resources Management is highly desirable.
Typing skills are required.
Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel) is required.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Must possess skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing.
Successful completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries is required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
