Duties
Imports key contractual documents to official contract files.
Responsible for computer based information programs, such as Mechanization of Contact Administration Services (MOCAS) and System Integrated Contract Management (SICM).
Identifies contract or database anomalies and routes to appropriate functional specialist for correction.
Conducts data integrity for MOCAS, and then documents the need for corrections that are outside the technician?s authority to correct.
Inputs Other Disbursing Office (ODO) and non-ODO contract information into MOCAS.
Advises contractor personnel and Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) about contractual compliance.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Security Requirements: Noncritical-Sensitive with Secret Access Required
- Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.
- Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
Qualifications
To qualify for a Procurement Technician, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-06 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Collecting/analyzing information and data for reports.
Maintaining/updating database records and then verifying accuracy of information.
Compilating, presenting, and reporting development using automated databases and software applications.
Reviewing/applying procurement regulations and procedural manuals.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
