This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ), OJP's mission is to increase public safety and improve the fair administration of justice across America through innovative leadership and programs. NIJ's mission is to advance scientific research, development, and evaluation to enhance the administration of justice and public safety.
Duties
Assists the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) to develop policies, standards, designs, action plans and data analytics on NIJ-wide governance, data system integrity.
Serves as the primary NIJ point of contract for the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data activities and manages all grant and contract data submission and archiving efforts.
Collaborates with OJP and NIJ Information Technology staff on data modernization issues and online data accessibility improvements.
Manages special data studies of importance that significantly impact research and evaluation in the criminal justice field, such as innovative studies that apply quantitative analysis and sophisticated statistical techniques to data collected in support of national justice policy.

Qualifications
Basic Entry Requirements:
Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
or
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Designs, develops and/or maintains data warehouses.
Collaborates with Information Technology staff on data modernization issues and online data accessibility improvements.
