About the Position: Perform a variety of warehousing and forklift operations involved in the receipt, storage and issue of supplies.
Duties
Checking items for correctness; ensuring materials are not damaged while ensuring proper handling from receipt to storage and final delivery to the end user
Obtains proper signatures and returns all pertinent documentation to the receiving office.
Use of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Computer Systems, Handwritten Tracking Sheets for processing and delivery of all materials
Processing materials marked for shipment which includes packaging, labeling and shipment of medical material to be returned to vendors
Receive Medical/Surgical, Pharmaceutical, Vaccines, Medical Hazardous and Medical Equipment and various other material class types from various vendors.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work is performed on hard surfaces and in areas that require walking, standing, sitting, stooping, pulling, pushing, lifting and bending. Work is performed using forklifts, handcarts, pallet jacks sufficient to perform receiving, processing, storing, issuing, and delivery of materials. The incumbent must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in variety environments which consist of rain, cold, heat, dust, etc. to include freezers, walk in refrigerators, cages, outside dock areas, and inside warehouse areas. Material handling equipment including gas and electric forklifts, electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks and carts are used to move materials and supplies to designated areas for the purpose of storage, issuing and delivering to various clinics
