This position is located in the nutrition unit of the Obesity and Diabetes Clinical Research Section, Phoenix Epidemiology and Clinical Research Branch (PECRB), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institutes of Health (NIH).
This position will provide provide support and technical assistance in the recruitment and data management of the research unit.
Duties
Establishes and maintains a close working relationship with primary investigators and all ancillary staff.
Serves as point of contact for participant recruitment concerning all aspects of the prescreening and screening process, recruitment criteria specific for each study, and scheduling of long-term follow-ups.
Utilizing a tracking system for screening visit failures, admissions, and outpatient follow-ups.
Submitting a weekly accrual rate statistics and 'nonqualifying' statistics to all primary investigators
Arranging transportation of research volunteers as related to the study.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
- Employment is subject to the successful completion of the pre-appointment process (i.e., background investigation, verification of qualifications and job requirements, completion of onboarding forms, submission of required documents, etc.)
- Pre-employment Medical Examination is required.
- Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-06 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Assisting with the implementation of clinical research protocols; Performing research study patient outreach, recruitment, scheduling; Interviewing study participants to obtain factual information and explaining clinical procedures AND Reviewing records for accuracy and completeness.
In addition, you must be able to type at least 40 or more words per minute with 3 or fewer errors in a 5 minute sample.
