Southern District of Florida; Fort Lauderdale, FL The selectee of this position serves as a Lead Investigative Analyst. You will be responsible for leading a team of Investigative Analysts including gathering, researching, and analyzing a variety of intelligence data; evaluating, processing, coordinating, and monitoring a variety of warrants, criminal and civil documents; and identifying and resolving problems.

Duties

As a Lead Investigative Analyst at the GS-1805-11 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Independently gathering, researching, and analyzing various types of data from federal, state, local and public agencies. Developing reports on a variety of investigative intelligence information to support ongoing investigations. Providing administrative support and assistance to USMS Criminal Investigators in accomplishing activities for their assigned warrant cases. Monitoring court orders to ensure that deadlines are met. Assisting administrative staff in balancing workload and implementing problem solving techniques conducive to viable solutions. Ensuring that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. GS-11 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-1805-11 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications: 1. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) Generating a variety of reports such as facility invoice reconciliation, civil process history, detention cost, active warrants, etc. 2)Monitoring, evaluating and coordinating a variety of warrants, writs, and/or court orders (i.e. for escape prisoners, parole and probation violations, bond defaults, judge's rulings, etc.) within a timely manner; 3) Utilizing law enforcement related databases from Federal, state, local and/or public agencies to obtain, monitor, and update information for investigations, warrants, prisoner data, etc.; 4) Distributing and balancing tasks amongst a team; 5) Assessing team effectiveness and making recommendations to improve the quality in work products; and 6) Reconciling civil case files, responsible for receipt and disbursement of funds. OR 2. Education: I have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Statistics, Business Administration etc. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR 3. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) AND Possession of the following competencies: Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions. Partnering: Develops networks and builds alliances; collaborates across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals. Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on the job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues. Leadership: Inspires, motivates and guides others toward goal accomplishment; coaches, mentors, and challenges subordinates; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations; models high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, and respect for the individual by applying these values to daily behaviors. Note: Subject matter experts will evaluate the work experience in your resume based on these competencies.
