This position is located in Mammoth Cave National Park, in the Facility Maintenance Division. Career/ Career conditional Full-time appointment. Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.

Duties

Incumbent performs engineering equipment operator services that are needed in the overall maintenance and operation of the park. Incumbent operates; snow plows, graders, frontend loaders, backhoes, excavators, dozers, and a variety of other equipment utilized for roads and trails maintenance/construction, and for snow removal operations. Services, checks, and fuels equipment and attachments before operation. Performs daily preventative maintenance and makes repairs and adjustments to equipment. Apply knowledge of the nature of the soil and features of the terrain to determine the proper approach to complete the work. Apply knowledge of road and weather conditions to ensure safety is practiced at all times.

SCREEN OUT: Possess or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Drivers License CDL prior to employment. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT) Operation of motor vehicles Work practices(including keeping thins neat, clean, and in order) Ability to interpret instructions, specification, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Ability to operate safely (non-motor vehicles) Reliability and dependability as a Engineering Equipment Operator If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
