You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FACILITY MANAGEMENT DIVISION of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will manage the sustainment activities to keep facilities in good working order by establishing scheduled maintenance and repairs. You will prioritize work based on a number of factors including mission and facility condition. You will evaluate analytical engineering reports to determine corrective action and provide technical guidance on facility issues. You will review contract drawings for conformance to Computer-Aided Design standards. You will conduct inspections of real property assets and develop a written detailed analysis accurately assessing the facilities condition. You will document facilities deficiencies and imitates corrective repair action by creating Requirement Packages.

Qualifications

For Outside applicants claiming VEOA and VRA (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Apply engineering methods and techniques in the design, review, analysis, layout, and preparation of appropriate documentation; 2) Ensure that budget forecasts, estimates, and submissions conform to requirements, guidelines, and financial objectives; 3) Track the use and status of resources for system design projects through development, modification, maintenance, and evaluation of a standard program management; 4) Utilize practical applications of various types of trades and crafts to include concrete work, electrical, plumbing, wood-working, or other construction activities as related to facilities construction, repair, and maintenance. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilize engineering principles (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) pertaining to the operation, design, construction, sustainment, restoration, and modernization of real property; 2) Utilize budgetary policies/procedures to assure that budget forecasts, estimates and submissions conform to requirements and financial objectives; 3) Design, review, layout and prepare project documentation using engineering methods and techniques; and 4) Utilize system software (e.g., Single Platform Maximo) and system development (including systems documentation, design development, configuration management, cost analysis, data administration, systems integration and testing) to track the status and use of resources for system design projects.
