About the Position: The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) aims to conduct biomedical research that is responsive to Department of Defense and US Army requirements and delivers lifesaving products including knowledge, technology and medical material that sustain the combat effectiveness of the Warfighter.

Duties

Maintain approved automated information system. The current system is Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system. Resolve system issues and ensure that DMLSS transfers all procurement actions correctly through the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS). Provide systems expertise to WRAIR staff, eliminating problems and improving supply systems effectiveness. Review the status of the Services and Process Dates in the System Administration Home page, Manage backups ,Data tape replacement (on-premises server only).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • 2-year initial probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

WRAIR is participating in an alternative personnel system knows as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP). The DJ-03 pay band is equivalent to the GS-11 Step 01 to GS-12 Step 10 level. In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within the pay band equivalent, may not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position. Future pay increases within the pay band will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) providing technical guidance pertaining to the use of the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system and functionally related problems; (2) providing technical guidance pertaining to the use of the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) system and functionally related problems; and (3) conducting analysis in support of supply management information systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09/DJ-02). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Logistics Management, and Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
