You will serve as a Test & Trials Coordinator in the (Yard, Repair, Berthing and Messing) YRBM, Mine Countermeasure (MCM), Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV), or Towing, Salvage and Rescue Ships (T-ATS) Test Program(s) in the Conrad Shipyard (Amelia), Bollinger Shipyard (Lockport), or Bollinger Shipyard (Houma) respectively of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Duties

You will review contract and detailed design drawings as part of the test procedure review. You will coordinate the review of shipbuilder deliverable test documentation and provide government response or approval. You will serve as the resident authority for the installation, testing and functional integration of the systems installed on the YRBM, MCM USV, or T-ATS. You will review and approve test procedures. You will prepare reports documenting the review of contract deliverables. You will ensure 100% percent coverage of test witnessing by personally witnessing tests, utilizing contractor or SUPSHIP Gulf Coast personnel. You will act as the direct line between the shipbuilder, certification authorities and certification conductors while ensuring that all certification documentation is completed and recorded. You will provide expert guidance and support to the contractor in scheduling and coordinating the contractor's test program to ensure compliance with system and contract performance requirements. You will review design requirements, program plans and directives, test procedures and other contractual documentation for system performance and completeness. You will ensure proper system integration and interface requirements are satisfied during shipboard testing periods.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, monitoring, or coordinating test and evaluation activities, operations, or inspections of shipboard systems on surface ships or submarine to ensure that design, functional, or contractual requirements are met.
