You will serve as an EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the OPERATIONS AND PLANS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will manage the planning, programming, supervision and execution of the Regional Installation Emergency Management Program for MCIEAST.
You will be primarily responsible for the seamless integrating of emerging EM requirements and policies into current installation emergency preparedness and emergency response training and equipment platforms.
You will serve as the Regional Emergency Manager, undertaking duties and responsibilities to oversee administration of the MCIEAST Regional EM Program.
You will represent the EM program for MCIEAST at conferences with FEMA, DHS, DOD, federal and state agencies, local municipalities, and the general public on matters concerning the MCIEAST EM program.
You will serve on ad hoc committees to review and prepare comments on HHQ, regional, installation, IEM plans, orders and directives.
You will prepare a variety of documents/products, such as, memoranda, point papers, talking papers, information papers, presentations, business letters, reports, spreadsheets, and tables.
You will attend meetings, conferences and seminars with state Emergency Managers as required to coordinate efforts that relate to the mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery of an all-hazards event/disaster.
You will serve as the regional EM exercise coordinator responsible for conducting exercise training needs assessment to best serve command gaps proficiency.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: emergency services and training for all hazard events; program interrelationships, interpreting new regulations, changes to regulations, and recommended new policies.
