A housing subsidy of up to $697.84 per pay period without dependents or $879.23 per pay period with dependents may be available in Poplar, MT.
This position is located within the dental department at the IHS Indian Health Center, Fort Peck Service Unit, Poplar, Montana. This position reports to the Supervisory Dentist or designee.
Duties
Supervisory duties include scheduling work assignments, orientation, training and development, setting performance standards and evaluating EPMS, timekeeping, leave granting, and minor disciplinary actions. Recommends selections, promotions, awards, disciplinary actions, deals with employee suggestions, complaints, grievances and other matters in the day to day operations.
Manages daily operations of the clinic. Assures that the clinic is adequately staffed and that patients are being seen in an efficient and professional manner, in accordance with Service Unit Dental policies.
Assures that housekeeping and maintenance services are provided, determines supply and equipment needs, assures that supplies are ordered and stored properly and that equipment is maintained and replaced as needed.
Provides training for new employees. Supervise on-going training for subordinates. Advise the dentists to utilize sources for continuing education for dental assistants. Arrange for supplemental training for specific deficiencies in the work of subordinates.
Qualifications

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR)Public Law 97-35 requires that persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75. Essentially, they must (l) have successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards described in that regulation, and is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education, and (2) be certified as dental radiographers.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-08: One (1)year of specialized experience with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service. Examples include: Assist with and/or Plan, organize, direct and review administrative duties to oversee the Dental Assistants for a health care facility. Provides dental assistance to general or specialized dentistry in dental assistant expanded functions work that include: simple and complex restorative dentistry, oral ultrasonic scaling/prophylaxis and assisting in the pediatric dental clinic.
