About the Position: Technical Writer-Editor position located with U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, AMCOM Logistics Center, Missiles Directorate, Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Duties

Review and interpret technical documentation and source data (i.e. engineering drawings, technical data package, engineering change proposals, etc.) to identify impacts to technical manuals Manage development and/or update of Technical Manuals (TMs), Department of the Army Modification Work Orders (DAMWOs), and Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs). Perform hands-on verification of technical manuals (TMs, Technical Bulletins, DAMWOs, and DMWRs). Serve as a Logistics focal point engaged in directing, developing, and/or implementing logistics policies, processes, initiatives and/or programs for major, highly complex weapon systems acquisitions in the areas of Logistics support.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position which requires Intermediate Level II Acquisition Corps certification in the acquisition career field of Life Cycle Logistics within 24 months upon entering into this position.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 15% of the time.
