This National Guard position is for a Primary Prevention Specialist (PREV WF) (Title 5), Position Description Number T0029P01 located in SLC UT, with the UTNG. The selecting supervisor for this vacancy is Ms. Annika Hunt. Priority will be given to all current, onboard employees of the UTNG.

BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communication; Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings; Ability to assess body language and perceive emotional and/or distress levels; and, Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. OR Four years of appropriate specialized experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS 9: Have least 1 year specialized experience as a GS-0101-07? Must submit SF 50. OR have at least 24 months experience (or 4 years to meet general experience) that equipped yourself with the particular knowledge of DoD or other government agency's programs in regard to sexual assault, domestic abuse, victim advocacy reporting options, directives, regulations, and/or implementing guidance. Knowledge of Primary Prevention efforts Knowledge of social-ecological systems theory Knowledge and experience in the organization, management, and administration of programs and services to participate in program planning Skill in development and maintenance of public understanding and sound working relationships with local and community agencies Skill in applying professional community organization abilities related to the formulation of needs assessments, development of prevention programs, and the marketing of programs Knowledge of complex helping systems and professional organizations, how they positively or negatively affect individual and family welfare, and the multiple ways these systems and organizations operate to deliver services Excellent skills in oral and written communication to include report writing and maintaining proper records to document services provided Knowledge of and skill in planning, conducting and evaluating Primary Prevention training programs Knowledge of the regulations, policies, and precedents that are used for developing the action plans to implement approved prevention strategies Ability to plan and adequately support the needs of National Guard members by determining what the future needs of the Service Member are through the interpretation and analysis of studies, and trends Knowledge of policies and requirements for the development and analysis of the Prevention Programs efforts in order to integrate effective prevention measures Knowledge of automated data systems to maintain information Knowledge of analytical techniques to identify, analyze and/or recommend solutions to problems encountered and to develop Statistical data and narrative report SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS 11: Have least 1 year specialized experience as a GS-0101-09? Must submit SF 50. Education
