About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Tripler Army Medical Center, Directorate of Resource Management, Logistical Purchasing Division, Honolulu Hawaii. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.

Duties

Initiates, reviews and processes procurement requests for medical supplies, coordinates within TAMC Logistics Division personnel and Purchasing and Contracting to ensure timely receipt so that patient care is not compromised. Keeps abreast of commercially available substitutes of potential use to the hospital and advises the Chief of Materiel of those items with merit. Serves as primary inventory management specialist for medical supplies using prime vendor, direct vendor purchase, and government purchase card authority and procedures to purchase required drugs and services. Determines and adjusts reorder points considering such factors as usage rates, shelf life, storage capability, lead time, fluctuation in demand, projected needs new hospital programs and residencies and fund availability. Ensures accuracy of all database entries into the system item master file.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
