THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1655P01 and is part of the ND 177 Intelligence Squadron, National Guard.

Duties

As an Intelligence Operations Specialist, you will perform specialized Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) duties as a Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) unit crewmember and to train assigned military unit members in theduties and functions associated with ELINT Tasking, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TPED). Major Duties, this is not an all-inclusive list: Serves as a ISR unit crewmember in the SIGINT exploitation section, responsible for ELINT operations and production affecting time critical targeting (TCT), direct threat warning, battle damage assessment, combat identification, combat search and rescue, multi-INT correlation, threat analysis, mapping, intelligence preparation of the battlespace, situation monitoring, and mission reporting. Participates in pre-mission conferences to outline mission objectives, potential threats, and possible outcomes. Advancement to GS 9 secondary and subsequently GS 11 levels, is not automatic with the completion of the training time required at this grade level, but rather it is contingent upon the assignment and performance of higher graded duties on a regular and recurring basis. The immediate supervisor and the higher level supervisors in the organization must assure the helper duties and subsequent intermediate level is essential and has been adequately mastered through actual performance of higher graded journey level duties. A locally developed Individual Development Plan (IDP) will be established for the incumbent. This plan will be designed to provide the individual selected with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and hone their skills to meet the full operating level of the Intelligence Operations Specialist, GS-0132-11, PD # D1655P01

Requirements

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS or SCI security clearance.
• Candidates will have to pass a Counter Intel polygraph test.

Qualifications

MAX Grade: SSgt PCS STATEMENT: PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION. Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 - Applicant must have at least 12 months experience, education or training which includes: 1) Investigating and collecting data to develop reports of findings and 2) Experience storing, controlling, destroying and accounting for classified documents. GS-09 - Applicant must have at least 24 months experience, education or training which includes: 1) performing functions involving various intelligence systems and organizations; 2) Experience reviewing and analyzing data including technical reports, surveys, and studies; and 3) Experience preparing and conducting training plans and programs, both formal and on-the-job. GS-11 - Applicant must have at least 36 months experience, education or training which includes: 1) developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations; 2) Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others; and 3) Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports. You must also possess the experience, training or education to support your claim for the competency statements listed within the assessment questionnaire.
