THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (UAS), Position Description Number D2194000 and is part of the CO AASF, National Guard.
This position is responsible for the maintenance of the total system and components.
Duties
Performs Quality Assurance (QA) inspections and evaluations of unit or facility performed unmanned aircraft system maintenance and repair, in support of organizational, intermediate, and/or depot maintenance on the entire RQ-7B "Shadow" equipment set assigned to the unit or facility. Ensures that Government property is controlled and properly maintained. Provides technical assistance on all UAS maintenance matters to UAS operators, UAS maintenance crews or contractor support personnel. Operates light utility motor vehicles, up to two and a half ton, to transport self and others to worksites that are remote from the immediate shop facility, between installation airfields, or emergency repair sites when required. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Must hold the grade of E-5 thru E-7.
- Compatible Military Assignment: 15E MOS.
- Membership in the Colorado Army National Guard.
- Submit all required documentation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-5 thru E-7
Compatible Military Assignments: 15E MOS

Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.
2. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.
3. Experience instructing lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in aircraft maintenance procedures, technical aspects of aircraft systems, and safety practices.
4. Experience working independently, applying proper judgement determining maintenance procedures, having a comprehensive understanding of technical manuals as well as aircraft forms and records.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
