About the Position: This position is located with the Religious Support Office, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. This is an excepted service appointment. If a current federal employee with career or career conditional status is hired for this position the employee will be required to sign a memo of understanding prior to being converted to the excepted service.

Duties

Advise Garrison Chaplain and senior religious faith group Chaplain on Religious Education and youth programs. Provide input to Garrison Chaplain for annual and monthly budgets for religious education materials and support activities. Implement actions necessary to affect a comprehensive religious education and youth ministry program for a single religious faith group. Serve as focal point for implementation of religious education and youth ministry for one religious faith group. Recruit volunteer workers for all phases of a religious educational and youth ministry program. Ensure and makes provision for training and mentoring of religious education and youth ministry personnel.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement: Degree: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major or minor in religious education or spiritual formation, or a minimum of 18 documented credit hours in the religious education or spiritual formation. OR A minimum of 3 years of documented professional experience leading a religion-based education program. Additional years of documented religion-based education program leadership may be substituted for up to six credits of the academic requirement (at a rate of 1 year of documented professional religious education experience for one religious education academic credit). Experience Required: Applicants must show in their resume that they have experience which has provided: *Religious Education Program Management and Administration. *Religious Education Course and curriculum development, evaluation, and selection for all denominations and faith groups. *Knowledge of multi-faith religious requirements and religious education program awareness and coordination. *Religious developmental theory and basic principles of faith formation. *Experience designing spiritual formation venues for children, youth, adults, and intergenerational groupings. *Coordination of Youth Ministries. *Religious education volunteer teacher/leader training experience. *Religious volunteer management experience.
