This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center & School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Duties

Translate oral and written results into meaningful information for a variety of personnel. Conduct complex psychological assessments of Soldiers and civilians interested in becoming SERE instructors or support personnel. Provide assessment supervision and mentorship/training to psychology interns, residents, graduate students, and contract psychologists. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and capabilities of the student/trainee. Review Soldiers? history and evaluate data collected to determine suitability for training and treatment priorities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One- year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
  • This position is subject to perform temporary duty up to 25%.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Must meet requirements for independent practice and maintain current credentials with a sanctioned DoD medical authority.
  • Incumbent must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (e.g., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
  • Incumbent required to be on-call.
  • Must be willing to participate in stressful, physically demanding training. Specifically, the incumbent must be a SERE level C graduate, or must agree to complete such training.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Psychologist Position: Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes administering and interpreting psychological tests; evaluating effectiveness of programs; and conducting therapeutic interventions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently from a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
