About the Position: The position is located at the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Fleet Management Expansion (FMX), Fort Moore, GA. Fort Moore is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, GA, and adjacent to Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking are available.

Duties

Maintain overview of several Field Level Maintenance program requirements to include budgetary execution and manpower utilization. Direct the day-to-day Field Level Maintenance requirements for weapons, communications and optical equipment, automotive equipment, marine equipment, and other special purpose items. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, the difficulty of the work to be performed, and the capabilities of employees. Attend meetings and conferences with individuals representing private concerns, officials of other governmental elements, as well as supervisors and management officials from all organizational elements of the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE).

  • The work of this position requires some TDY travel up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) providing logistical advisement and guidance to support field level maintenance operations programs to support base equipment; 2) developing short-term, mid-term and long-range plans to proactively match and account for changes in the operating environment; and 3) implementing applicable laws, policies, regulations, and precedents relating to logistics and maintenance management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Maintenance OperationsMaintenance Planning and ManagementManaging Human ResourcesTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
