Duties
This position is located in the Records Management Group, Information Resources Division, Upper Colorado Regional Office. The incumbent is responsible for accomplishing the management and disposition of region-wide records. The primary duties of this position include:
Provide expertise and training in the area of records disposition, personally accomplishing or advising and assisting others in the transfer or disposal of records.
Responsible for the maintenance of inactive regional office files.
Confer with regional office staff members to resolve records disposition problems and to keep abreast of developments in records disposition in automated data processing and records storage mediums.
Perform extensive records research and retrieving archives records spanning fifty years or more.
Evaluate raw records inventory data to determine if the compilations are correct and to verify that the records are recorded in the correct categories.
Review the Vital Operating Records for proper classification codes, inventories and ships for the region.
Review, identify, and evaluate records for historical value.
Qualifications
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the education and/or specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
To qualify at the GS-05 level, choose the response that best describes your specialized experience as related to the qualification requirements for this position related to the work of the position equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal service, as also described in the vacancy announcement. Specialized Experience is defined as having 3 or more of the following: 1) mail management, 2) customer service, 3) office or clerical work, 4) experience receiving and shipping various packages, 5) data entry into automated system.

Education: Successful completion of 4 years above high school or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited school or university. If you are basing your qualifications on education, you must submit a copy of your unofficial transcripts with your application (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED).

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100% (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including any selective placement factors if applicable, by 08/16/2023.
Education
This vacancy announcement allows substituting education for experience at the GS-05 grade level. Applicants must submit a copy of college transcript(s) (unofficial copy is acceptable) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience. Transcripts must include the name of the college or university and date the degree was conferred. A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted. Non-submission may result in being rated not-qualified for the position.

An official transcript must be sent directly from the University's Registrar's office and must be provided from the institution awarding the degree.
