About the Position:
This position is with the 88th Readiness Division (RD), Physical Security Branch, Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) located at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.
The DES plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates force protection and security programs while providing expert staff and technical advice to the 88th RD Commanding General, Headquarters Staff, and supported facilities and units throughout a 19-state region.
Duties
Supervise and manage the Force Protection Branch within the 88th Readiness Division Directorate of Emergency Services.
Oversee the Physical Security Equipment (PSE) program to include approval of all acquisitions, installations, maintenance, and modifications; e.g., Intrusion Detection Systems, closed-circuit television, access controls, barriers, vaults and weapons.
Supervise branch personnel including a remotely located workforce of physical security inspectors.
Apply risk management and problem solving to develop emergency plans and procedures for the 88th Readiness Division and subordinate organizations.
Assist supported / tenant units in the development and implementation of physical security programs.
Collect and analyze data and maintain information related to physical security and anti-terrorism program performance.
Produce finished documents; e.g., reports, special studies, policy and procedure documents, and security designs related to physical security and anti-terrorism programs.
Coordinate and collaborate with US Army Reserve (USAR) Functional and Geographical commands on physical security and anti-terrorism issues.
Manage the funding, appropriation, and allocation of an annual budget and serve as a billing official and/or authorizing official for Government Purchase Card (GPC) holders.
Manage a wide range of contract types and contract methods to identify alternative courses of action, modify standard contracting procedures and terms
to satisfy necessary requirements.

- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program and will require the incumbent to obtain and maintain the Physical Security Certification (PSC).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leading security personnel and managing a remote workforce which includes overseeing Army physical security, anti-terrorism, and Arms, Ammunition and Explosives (AA&E) programs/personnel; interpreting/applying security regulations; safeguarding critical information; conducting analysis and compiling reports related to physical security and anti-terrorism programs; reviewing existing security programs; and implementing current security guidance directed from higher level commands.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).
