About the Position: This position is located within the Department of Surgery, Urology. The work is normally performed in an office setting; is mainly sedentary, but may include some walking, bending stooping and carrying of light papers. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
Duties
Coordinate schedules for all staff providers within the clinic.
Assist in editing the provider schedule template for providers on leave, training, or out sick.
Prepare presentations for meeting with the Board of Directors.
Assist in scheduling patient appointments within the clinic.
Utilize automated healthcare systems to schedule patients and providers appointments.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative support within a healthcare facility; utilizing automated healthcare systems to input provider and patient schedules and gather administrative data for reports; and providing coordination of provider template schedules. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
