Duties

You will advise on the repair and maintenance of facility projects by applying standard building construction techniques. You will coordinate facility maintenance, design, and construction with staff and contractors for the organization. You will use Computer Aided Design (CAD) Drafting software or conventional drafting methods to produce designs and working drawings. You will maintain preventive maintenance programs for facilities structures, components, and systems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying Facility Management engineering principles (i.e. civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) for the operation, design, construction, and sustainment of industrial and commercial facilities; 2) Presenting designs and plans for facility projects; 3) Analyzing and inspecting facilities to determine design problems and make recommendations to improve its economic efficiency and effectiveness; 4) Utilizing computer software (i.e. AutoCAD, Maximo, WINEST, etc.) to track work orders, facility projects, create reports, etc. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/engineering-technical-series-0802/ AND https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=GS-TECH Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
