You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (SHEET METAL MECHANIC) in the Structural Division, Production Resources Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will arrange for or verify and expedite availability of required material, assist trades, support tools and equipment, transportation and engineering services for sheet metal projects. You will detect and eliminate actual bottlenecks by expediting actions and by reporting the cause of bottlenecks and recommending higher level expediting action and rescheduling of work as appropriate. You will prepare request and justification for revisions of job orders as necessary. You will assign and direct the work of one or more production dispatchers or similar lower level rating in accomplishment of the less difficult phases of the work. You will coordinate return of material and equipment for credit or salvage, as appropriate. You will receive and review job orders, design plans, memos, material lists, and related information.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
