The Emergency Telecommunications Program Manager will assist the Emergency Preparedness and Response Division Manager (AXE-500) in managing the Communications Support Team and the Priority Telecommunications Services (GETS/WPS/TPS) programs.
Duties
The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert in emergency telecommunications within the Emergency Preparedness & Response Division. Performs highly complex and challenging emergency operations planning and coordination at the headquarters-level. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the testing, evaluation, and implementation of Recovery Communications (RCOM) at the National and Regional levels. Supports FAA operations both in steady or activation states by ensuring Senior FAA officials and emergency response/continuity/devolution cadre have the means necessary to communicate during an emergency. Provides oversight of highly specialized contractors and communications specialists supporting the Communications Support Team (CST).

- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized Experience is defined as:Experience managing radio or communications technology; managing national level programs; and analyzing program data to develop cost estimates, studies, and operational plans. Experience applying federal emergency management and communications doctrine to agency program
management.Experience supporting response to significant incidents or events and experience supporting large, complex functional and full scale exercises.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
