These positions involve providing clerical support for time and attendance reports, audits and performing a range of assignments related to timekeeping for all employees of the Eastern Kansas integrated Medical Center. Incumbent also is responsible for providing primary back up and assistance to the System and Procedures Analyst serving as the Eastern Kansas Health Care System Payroll Liaison. There is one position each at VA Medical Centers Leavenworth and Topeka, KS.
Duties

Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Analysis, Review, and Reporting - 50%
As an assistant to the System and Procedures Analyst, incumbent provides advice and assistance in response to a wide variety of timekeeping/financial management related inquiries from VA employees. Participates in local technical operations to include unannounced audits of timekeepers, new employee orientation, time, and attendance exceptions, timekeeper training and maintenance of the T&L system.
Assists in the resolution of customer inquiries, complaints, and questions. Analyzes and evaluates cases to determine the nature of the inquiry; determines course of action to take that will yield the appropriate resolution for the customer. Responds back to customers within a specified time period with the accurate explanation and resolution of the problem.
Timekeeping Processing Oversight - 50%
Performs timekeeping and word processing functions. Assists with ensuring correct application of pay and leave systems. Categories of employees serviced include professional (Title 38), General Schedule (Title 5), Wage Grade, Canteen, and Fee Basis employees.
Assists in ensuring all pay entitlements including regular pay, overtime, compensatory time, scheduled and unscheduled, at regular and at overtime rates; night differentials; Saturday and Sunday Premium Pay; holiday pay; on-call pay; call-back pay; and continuation of pay are calculated and posted accurately.
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Qualifications
To apply for this position, you must have the following qualifications:
GS-05
EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service that includes performing a range of assignments related to employee timekeeping.

EDUCATION: The successful completion of 4 years of education above the high school level.(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
-OR-
COMBINATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience to meet total qualification requirements at the GS-5 level. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
