A housing subsidy of up to $697.84 per pay period without dependents or $879.23 per pay period with dependents may be available in Poplar, MT. The position is located at the Fort Peck Service Unit, Division of Professional Services, Branch of Behavioral Health Services, Poplar, Montana. Position reports to Supervisory Clinical Psychologist or designee.

Duties

Provides individual, marital, family and group counseling services to all age groups including children and adolescents. Provides basic assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a range of psychiatric illnesses and emotional/psychological problems to identify and assess social, psychological and sociological factors affecting the patient's understanding and response to medical treatment, as well as provides therapeutic intervention into the client's problems that facilitate recovery of health and stability. Coordinates referral of patient to non-IHS facilities and health care providers. Develops and manages case management services. Completes case documentation.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-11: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D degree or Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree. Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of qualifying experience for GS-11: collaborate with other health professionals to assess client needs; refer patients to community resources; provide individual or group counseling; coordinate care with expert diagnostic and treatment consultation to medical providers; assess in-patient needs and patient discharge planning; provide therapy to all age groups utilizing a variety of accepted treatment techniques; develop treatment plans; provide interventions surrounding drug, alcohol, co-occurring disorders, and crisis intervention to potentially life-threatening emergencies. Selective Factor: This position requires a current, unrestricted U.S. State license in one of the following areas: LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) or LCMHC (Licensed Clinic Mental Health Counselor). Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.
