Duties
Serves as Training and Curriculum Specialist responsible for providing development for a comprehensive training program for the Children Youth and Teen Program (CYTP) employees and Family Child Care (FCC) providers that supports the professional requirements of their positions. The incumbent determines approaches for implementation of the USMC Standardize curriculum/ program that fosters the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development of children and youth, ages 6 weeks to 18 years. Responsible for promoting school readiness and support ongoing school success.

Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree with a major course of study directly related to child or youth development, ECE, or an equivalent field of study from an accredited college, or a combination of education and experiences, which provide knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study in the field of child or youth development or ECE. Knowledge of early childhood or youth education principles, concepts, and techniques to develop, interpret, monitor, and evaluate the execution of curriculum and age-appropriate activities. Knowledge of adult learning techniques and strategies and experience training adult learners. Ability to support DoD certification, accreditation, and staff credentialing (Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate of Arts (AA) Degree) by ensuring that required training is administered and successfully accomplished to meet statutory and program requirements.In addition to the basic requirements stated above the following is required:Knowledge of a very wide range of professional early childhood education principles, concepts, and techniques to develop, interpret, monitor and evaluate the execution of curriculum and age appropriate activities for the CYTP program area. Knowledge of Child Development behaviors, norms, growth patterns, nutritional requirements and procedures for assigned program area which support and promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children in assigned age groups. Knowledge of requirements for developmentally appropriate program materials and equipment, and the establishment of criteria for the organization of developmentally appropriate child activity spaces. Knowledge of appropriate developmental programming based upon implications and effects of child growth and behavioral patterns. Knowledge of staff training requirements and operational procedures in assigned program area/age groups. Knowledge of adult learning styles and motivational techniques. Knowledge of training techniques and course development methods to provide required and supplemental training. Satisfactorily complete all background checks in accordance with lAW PL 101-647 to include NACI. Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing and possess strong, interpersonal communication skills.
